Conde de Artoiz
D.O. Navarra, Spain
In 2000, the Escudero family decided to extend their business to Navarre, and a D.O. Navarra winery joined the wineries that this family already owned in La Rioja.
For over 23 years, Amador Escudero has been a wine-making advisor for several winteries in Navarre. Drawing upon his experience in the D.O. Navarra and aware of the quality of the vines in the area, he decided to start making his own wine in this wine region. Thus, he began to make a new line of red and rose wines under the Logos name. The project was consolidated with the acquisition of a winery in the municpality of Monteagudo, south of Navarre's Ribera Region, in the Quiles Valley.
Our Winemaker
Amador Escudero
Amador Escudero began as a wine consultant in the Navarre area , but began to produce his own wines in 2000. He works closely with the vineyard crews, using only organic treatments, to assure the optimum ripening of the fruit begins production at their Logos winery. Amador handles the harvest of each varietal with specific attention to fermentations and aging.
Cement and stainless-steel tanks are used for the fermentation of red wines. Stainless steel is used for the white wines, but they also do oak barrel fermentation. With minimal intervention in the fermentatin process and the use of peristaltic pumps allows the winery to minimize friction, prevent pip breakage and minimize the introduction of excess oxygen.
